The 39 Articles -The 39 Articles were written during the 16th century English Reformation and comprise the major theological document of Anglicanism. This website offers some contemporary thoughts by the Rector, inspired by the teaching of the Articles.

Christianity Explored - Would you like to find out more about Christianity, or just brush up on the basics, in an informal atmosphere?

Discipleship Explored - This is sequel to Christianity Explored and is a journey through the New Testament book of Philippians.

American Anglican Council - "A network of individuals, parishes, and specialized ministries who affirm Biblical authority and Christian orthodoxy within the Anglican Communion."

Anglican Communion Network - "A united, biblically driven missionary movement dedicated to bringing the 'true and legitimate' expression of Anglicanism to North America, making disciples of Jesus Christ. The ACN allows Episcopalians to remain in communion with the vast majority of the worldwide Anglican Communion who have declared either impaired or broken communion with the Episcopal Church. For many Episcopalians, the ACN has come to represent the hope for a return to the historic faith and order of Anglicanism."

Seminary Supported

Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry - Of the eleven seminaries of the Episcopal Church, Trinity is both the newest and the largest! It is located in Ambridge, Pennsylvania. "We are seeking to raise up and train dependably orthodox parish clergy and lay workers for the day-to-day hard work of building up parishes across America, and across the global village all around us."

Community Outreach

Snow-Cap Community Charities - Suburban Neighborhoods Operation Witness Community Action Program serves the needs of those in East Multnomah County through cooperative work with churches, community leaders and individuals. Residents in the area can get help with diapers, baby formula, winter utility bills, food, clothing, showers and other basic needs. To donate non-perishable food items at St. Matthews, place them in the wooden box behind the last pew - or bring them to the front of the church on the fourth Sunday of each month. St. Matthew's has supported Snow-Cap for 40 years - let's make it another 40!

William Temple House - "For more than 40 years William Temple House has served Portland's working poor families and individuals and today offers people in need a hand up by providing mental health counseling, emergency social services, and pastoral care."
